Orbiting the Giant Hairball: A Corporate Fool's Guide to Surviving with Grace by Gordon MacKenzie

Posted at — Nov 30, 2019

This is a business book, but it doesn’t have bullet points and it won’t promise you success in three easy steps. Instead it has many drawings and scribbles, and it tells you a bunch of stories.

The theme of the stories is “how to not take your job too seriously while still being employed”. They’re told in a lighthearted manner by a caring voice (expect a few sharp stabs as a bonus). Since they are stories and not meticulous plans, I think they’re meant to inspire some creativity in you and speak in archetypes rather than give you ready or detailed answers. Answers are boring anyway, right? :)

The book is very short and can be easily read in one sitting if you ever need a gust of fresh wind on your thinking about work.
